Camp Invention (Ages 5-12)Summer - Experiment with E-STEMThis year is designed to ignite WONDER, encourage confidence, and build essential STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) skills through collaborative, creative problem-solving. As campers join their friends in hands-on fun and excitement, they will be blown away by their discoveries and STEM successes! Catching Air™ takes students on a ride through physics, engineering, invention and the art of design as they build their own mini skate park — complete with ramps, bowls, rails and jumps! In MimicBot, students transform their very own robot into a one-of-a-kind and use their creativity. Along the way they explore the science of genetics and biomimicry! In Pop-Up Venture™ they discover how to attract customers, make strong financial decisions and develop marketing strategies. They get creative and incorporate green energy into their pop-up design and invent a unique way to distribute their products. In Invention Celebration™, students take on the role of event planners as they prepare for a grand celebration! They exercise their creativity by designing the lights, sounds, and mood for the party. Destination Mars: Rocketry (Ages 7-10)Summer - Experiment with E-STEMLaunch and watch your very own rocket speed 300 feet into the air! Then it is yours to take home! Students will make and take home multiple rockets of varying difficulty throughout this session. We will use these rockets and airplanes to investigate basic aeronautical concepts including: propulsion, thrust, lift, drag and more. We will also hypothesize about travel in outer space, how to get a United States astronaut to Mars and life on Mars.
