Ready to take your crochet skills to the next level? This class is perfect for those who are confident with the basics—chain, single crochet, slip stitch, magic ring, increases, and decreases—and are looking to move beyond beginner-level patterns. A list of 12 potential projects will be emailed to you five days before the first session. Choose one or more that match your interests and skill goals. During our two sessions, you’ll work on your chosen project(s), receive guidance as needed, and have the opportunity to share your own tips and techniques with others in the group.
Elsie is the product of two crafty individuals. One loved to create, the other loved finding more effective and efficient means to an end. The crafting bug bit hard and often. Elsie found herself embroidering, cross-stitching, and after many failed attempts, crocheting. While she still dabbles in other crafts, crochet is where she finds her joy. She supports many fiber artists by buying and/or testing their patterns. She designed her first pattern in January 2023 and is working on transitioning the second one from her brain to a PDF.
Elsie’s adulting hours are spent as technical writer. It’s helped fulfill her life goal of being a professional student because she’s always learning something new. Topics have ranged from heavy machinery to robots to “thought to reality” process. Luckily, as in the rest of life, she was blessed with many great teachers to guide her path. Her favorite role in life is being “Aunt Celi” to eight beautiful monkeys and their rescues and peanuts.
Minnesota has been home for Elsie since August 2022. While she’s experienced meat raffles, Twins games, and had her picture taken with the Mary Tyler Moore statue, she still refers to hot dishes as “casseroles” and has yet to venture further “up north” than Monticello.
