  • Private Band Lessons with Dagan Hanson

    Private Band lessons are for students entering 7-12 grade. Lessons will consist of 5, thirty-minute lessons, meeting each day Mon-Fri. Choose your lesson time and instructor based on availability. Space is limited. Register early for an option and time slot that fits your schedule. Instructor holds a Minnesota Teaching License in instrumental music with Oboe, Flute and Percussion expertise.

  • Oboe Beginner Group with Dagan Hanson

    Please arrange to rent or purchase your instrument. Students must arrange for an instrument prior to the start of Summer Band Lessons. There will be an in-person rental fair/event in May, time/location TBD. Please watch for information provided from the Middle School Band teachers. You can also rent/purchase your instrument online. Please purchase the book, Accent on Achievement Book 1, and bring it to all lessons. All lessons will be 30 minutes. If you/your child were not assigned to play this instrument, you will be cancelled from this lesson slot and we will attempt to contact you to reschedule a lesson time for your assigned instrument. Lessons slots are subject to availability. Please contact Community Education at 952.226.0310 if you have registered for the wrong instrument or otherwise need to change your lesson time. Due to the nature of the program, missed lessons may not be made up. If your student will miss a lesson (or more), please discuss that with your students instructor(s) once band starts. We will do our best to accommodate and to help your student catch-up.

  • Summer Stage Band (Entering Gr. 8-12)

    Jazz up your summer making rockin’ and swingin’ music! This group is open to all regular concert band and jazz band instrumentation, but will feature rock and swing music styles, with a rhythm section (drum set, bass guitar, electric guitar, piano). An off-site gig will be held the last week (TBD). You must be currently enrolled in the Prior Lake Band Program and have completed at least the 7th grade, or have been a member of one of the school jazz bands. Space is limited. Students may be added from the waitlist, based on strengths and specialties of students and the needs of the complete band.
