This class will provide education on how to offer healthy and effective support to those who are grieving. By the end of the class you will be able to: identify and understand the difference between helpful and unhelpful support, learn the most common obstacles preventing effective support, recognize the impacts ineffective support has on those who are grieving, and gain a variety of tools and be guided through the implementation of these tools; allowing you to effectively support your loved ones who are grieving.
Instructor Brittany Squillace, MA, LMFT is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and founder of Best Self Therapy. The mission of her work is to instill hope in adults to change the way they view, talk about and navigate grief; allowing them to live a better life as their best selves. This includes not only the death of a loved one but living losses as well (such as the loss of a marriage via divorce or the loss of identity in postpartum). In a safe and welcoming space, Brittany guides clients in exploring how the loss has affected their life and empowers them (via support and tools) to determine how they wish to continue living life while honoring their grief.
