    For those of us who like to hike, camp, canoe or spend time in the wilderness, eating well is essential for our stamina. But it is also important to carry as little weight and take as little space as possible! In this class, you will see meals the instructor has dehydrated and how to dehydrate your own meals to save you money and get better tasting healthier meals on the trail. Rehydrating is just as important too, so come learn some of the tricks to having tacos, stews, chicken and veggies in the back country.

    With the growing season in full swing, it is time to learn the basics of home preservation. Homemade jams, spicy salsas, fresh beans, fermented cabbage can all be enjoyed during the cold winter months. Home canning of fresh food provides a number of benefits, including: lower grocery bills, sustainable lifestyles, and better nutrition through control of the ingredients that go into your food. Once you know the basics, home canning and preservation is really quite easy. This class will introduce you to the tools/equipment, food safety, and produce/ingredient selection needed to successfully preserve this season and for many years to come.
  • Bubble Tea (Ages 12+) - NEW!

    What is it? Originating from Taiwan, and in its basic form, this drink consists of sweetened black tea, milk, ice, and chewy tapioca pearls, all shaken together and served with a fat straw to accommodate the marbles of tapioca that cluster at the bottom of the cup. Shaking introduces the milk bubbles and the pearls add to the beauty of this high end, popular drink. Variations can include Classic, Taro, Brown Sugar, Fruit filled, and many more. This hands-on class will introduce you to how to make this drink at home, including how to make the tapioca pearls and adjust it to your personal taste. 2 different drinks will be made per person.

    Gnocchi: Bite-sized tender soft pillows of pasta-ish goodness. Very versatile with the ability to take on the flavor of added goodness creating mouthwatering meals that will become favorites in your family’s dinner rotation. This may just sound too good to be true. Not only is this all true, but gnocchi are even simpler to make than other fresh pasta options! During this fun filled class, participants will learn how to create these little morsels of goodness, and then turn them into a scrumptious meal the instructor has created called Creamy Tuscan Gnocchi with Chicken, and make a wonderful loaf of fresh bread as well! Have some fun participating in this virtual Cook-Along class as we dive into the world of gnocchi! Follow along step-by-step, with our wonderful instructor as she guides you through the simple pleasure of creating these delicious tender bites of goodness. Then follow along and create a wonderful meal with them that will have your family asking for more! Make it a date night or family night as you create lasting memories in your kitchen! Have your questions answered by the instructor, interact with other participants as you cook along, and increase your confidence in the kitchen with each skill that is learned, and each little bit of advice and instruction that is shared. While cooking-along is loads of fun, it is optional. Participants will receive a list of ingredients in advance of the class with enough time for shopping and prep. A professionally made PDF of the Instructors Personal Recipes from this class will also be received.

    Take the mystery and fear out of growing and cooking with herbs—basil, dill, cilantro, lavender, rosemary, thyme, sage, tarragon, —to name a few. Taste and smell the flavors of these herbs, and discover the role these flavors have when added to everyday or special dishes and cuisines. In this make-and-take class, we will discuss herbs, what to do with them and plant a full pot for your patio or to set by your back door to use for cooking all summer long! Come with questions or ideas to share! Since we are working with soil, please dress appropriately or bring an apron and gloves.

    Join Kirsten from her home kitchen in this live online cooking class as she demonstrates a variety of recipes to brighten up your summer, including quick air fryer vegetable-forward seasonal snacks plus a Blueberry-Ginger Shrub and Rosemary Lemon Syrup to liven up your warm weather libations. Extensive handout with additional recipes included. Class is recorded so you can watch when you're able to or cook along at your convenience.
