Knowing Your Muslim Neighbor

What is Islam? Who are Muslims and what are their core beliefs? Since Minnesota's Muslim population has increased in recent years, it makes sense to uncover the myths from the facts. Understand Islam's 5 Pillars of Faith which include Shahadah (declarations of faith), Salat (daily prayers), Zakat (special tax given to the poor), Sawm (fasting) and Hajj (pilgrimage). Learn about the social structure of the Muslim population and information about social interaction. This class is designed to be educational and allow for open dialogue with questions and answer time. Note: the beginning of this course will be in a combined group with Knowing Your Muslim Student participants.
